Some forum owners ask what exactly “Adult Content / Obscene Content” means in our content policy. In order to protect the integrity of our advertisers (which allow this service to be free) we require all forums to contain family friendly content and appropriate for all audiences.
While not a sure test, asking questions such as: Would I be comfortable showing this content to my kids or parents? Would I be comfortable viewing this content if my boss walked up beside me? If you answered “no” to either of these questions chances are our advertisers wouldn’t be comfortable running ads on your content.
Checking with us first is a safer alternative to having your forum removed without warning.

Now It’s more likely I can stroll through forums without being offended, once people read this. Now I know that Forums don’t allow advertising directly or registering just to advertise. But just putting the link in your signature dosn’t make it advertising your website, right?

Thwomp,
Thanks for your comment. As for your question, you’re allowed to have advertising in your signature.

I aim to keep my forum family friendly however the ridiculous amount of spam I receive does not. I have now had to lock the forum so that only moderators can contribute as most spams contained adult content e.g. penis enlargement. Most days the forum received 40+ spam posts, it is very annoying and limiting to forum usage.

kathryn, what I did, and it works, is I made a strict “no spamming policy” where, the first time you make spam posts, you get a warning, and have the Private Messaging ability taken away. Second time, banned forever, the username, the email address, and the IP address. Also, I set the flood interval to 60 seconds.
